What is a CSA?
What are the different share options?
Can I mix and match items?
Can I purchase a different quantity than what is listed in the share?
Is there a limit for milk, eggs, and ground beef?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture – it is an alternative model for food distribution. There are many different variations on the model, but ours works like this: Members pay in advance for a share of food and come weekly to pick it up from the farm. A share includes a variety of items we produce. The community invests in their local farm, and the farm feeds the community.
The full share includes raw milk, cheese, butter, eggs, ground beef, and bread.
Dairy share includes milk, cheese and butter
The meat share includes ground beef.
The egg share is for eggs.
The bread share is for bread.
Yes – you may purchase any combination of the shares described above, but must always include a dairy share.
You may add additional shares at the same price to increase your allowance. You may also purchase items from our Farm Store.
Yes, there is. We want to offer flexibility, but we have a limited supply of these items and our production costs are too high to offer a completely open-ended share. There is a limit of 4 gallons of milk, 3 lbs of ground beef, and 3 dozen eggs weekly. Please take advantage of the flexibility week to week, bringing home only what you will consume before the next distribution, within these limits.
In 2013, the summer share starts the first week of May (May 3rd & May 5th) and runs for 17 weeks, until the week of Aug 23rd and 25th. The fall share starts the first week of September, and also runs for 17 weeks.
We accept sign-ups on a rolling basis.
You can sign up at any point. If the distribution has already begun, we will pro-rate the cost of the share.
