Even though the daylight is getting shorter and shorter, we are still getting the most amazing light, especially in the mornings. I love seeing the morning sun come up over the stone barn and though the long draping branches and leaves of the willow tree outside my front door. The farm is a special place to experience this light because just like much of what we do here, it is so simple but so rich. To me, stopping and soaking it up feels similar to stopping and watching a cow walk up the road, or closing your eyes while eating a piece of cheese to really taste it. Now the hills on either side of the farm are purple and blue with the bare trees of winter. I miss the colors of autumn that always seem to come and go too quickly, but am excited about this cold air that is blowing in and all the light and colors that come with it!
