The cool and crisp weather makes my time outside with the cows even more precious. I haven’t been going out to see them as often as I was when the days were warmer and the light was longer. But I savor my limited time with them, and like to sit and connect with a couple of cows individually. I often talk to them and tell them about my day – things I am thinking about, things I worry about, and things that excite me. They are great to talk to because they are excellent listeners! They are usually interested in coming over and rubbing noses with me, except for when they are digging into the beginning of a meal. At mealtime their focus is only on that baleage!
