last night I took a long walk through the Cricket Creek pastures and hayfields. Walking around these fields is peaceful and beautiful, but takes on a completely different quality when you are among the cows – where my walk brought me. I like to sit with the cows in the pasture in the evenings and just watch them. I watch as they munch on grass, chew their cud, play around with each other, and take occasional interest in me. Their presence while grazing is extremely grounding, especially after a long or hard day. Last night it was just what I needed. I am again thankful for their calm and simple nature and that I am able to walk and sit with them in the evenings.
